When I outlawed the word the children were using everytime they saw a yellow car (read line on the road, roof, sign post . . .) to "claim" that one, they substituted "yellow", which was, shortly thereafter, declared a curse word. (Although nowhere near as eloquently.) It sounds completely cliché but there isn't anything I would swap for having had the blessing of my children. And that's not to say that I haven't sometimes thought, "Getting through this is taking a year off my life!"
