No! It's a fund raiser for our community's school, but it's open to everyone. Come next year! It's the last Saturday in April. You can run with Rachel (Testeosterhome) and Amy (Raisingangels) and, who knows, maybe even me next year. Really I'm thinking about waiting until I turn 50. Then I'll have a shot at winning something.
Does your husband's change of command me a move as well?
No move. Thankfully! That's sort of a deal breaker for me. I grew up in the military (as did he) and I'm done with the moving. Since he's in the Reserves, he goes one weekend a month and a couple weeks in the summer, although being the commander will mean a little more on his own time. Mostly working at night from home. My Dad lives in Augusta, just outside the gates of Ft. Gordon, so he stays with them. Next time I'm there with him, if you're free, I'd love to meet somewhere for coffee!
Kris - I'd love to have coffee. Email me next time you're headed this way. I was in the Reserves for 12 years. How well I know the weekend warier routine. Good times - long, mostly uncompensated hours.

And the run sounds fun! My big race every year is the Peachtree here in Atlanta on July 4th.
