No Contradiction Whatsoever

John, barricading the doorway: What's the password?

Tim: I don't know.

John: It's love, you idiot!

Groan.

'You idiot' is the phrase sprinkled liberally throughout our kids' interactions. It drives me mad! (tho' I probably said the same and worse growing up). Threatening to turn off the Wii (the usual source of trouble) results in horrific grimacing and over-acted sibling hugs - until the local parent leaves the vicinity - whereupon the verbal bashing resumes. Glad to know we're not the only ones.

"Some idiot" is a seldom seen but constantly mentioned visitor in our home (as in 'some idiot" left the milk out). The shame of it is that John is three and has a whole different vocabulary than Tim ever did at that age.

Most words I can pin on the big boys, but John learned d_mn from someone and I can't blame his brothers for that one.

You are not the only ones.

How is your job? So excited for you.

Oh this made me laugh. It's like the perfect metaphor for the human condition! So easy to say 'love' and so hard to do it.
