Can't Touch This!

3. She has at least one boy.

How do I know this, you ask.

2. I am a mother.

Can't Touch This!

I walked into the kitchen the other day and saw one of the boys move back and forth from the stove to the sink to the fridge . . . all the while stepping on a dish towel. I doubt he threw the dish towel on the floor, but why, Why, WHY couldn't he pick it up?

Not on their radar.

4 boys here. And a husband. That's all I have to say. Sigh. We are a unique sisterhood.

Kelly, about the lion tatoo...I had a nameless 15 month old start poking someone's lower back (where the shirt and pants fail to meet) at the conference this past weekend. The offending party was promptly moved and thankfully the teenage girl thought she was just cute! God bless!

Oh Kelly you took that one little sentence and really ran with it! Your post is brilliant. I think that another way to look at what boys (we?) see / don't see is: Is it Fun? (I see it and I see the possibilities) or is it Not Fun (what dishtowel?).

I'm not very motivated by Fun, and usually fail to see the possibilities. But as you say, it's no bad thing to start some training in the concept of Is it Pleasingly Tidy and Organised?

The problem of course is that Pleasingly Tidy and Organised - which makes my heart happy - is very UNFUN for a child.

Someday in years to come you will have a quiet house, and maybe then you will start finding alternative uses for skirt hangers such as displaying Elmos...
