Bare

Cari is hosting Theme Thursday, and this week's theme is Bare.

Is your house suddenly feeling bare? Sometimes that feels great, like cleaning up after a big party. Sometimes, for me at least, bare comes with a whiff of sadness that the whole exciting shebang is over until Advent 2014 rolls around.

I've put away everything except this:

The photo doesn't do it justice.

This sparkly bauble is a block of frosted bathroom glass filled with twinkle lights and covered in a bow. My friends Laurie and Anna made this for me a few years ago, and I love it. I'm not an especially glitzy person, so this adds a bit of needed pizzazz.
.
Grace, peace, and healing to you and yours, Anna and Laurie. I think of you as I pass this.

Oh! I didn't even think about the post-Epiphany bareness of houses. So interesting.

That box is beautiful. We didn't decorate until just before Christmas, so it's all still up. After Jesus' baptism, I'm really going to do tear down. Almost certainly.

I always feel things are a little bare when all the holiday decorations are put away. It is a bit refreshing to have some space back, but yet somehow a bit sad, too. I like that light block! Very pretty.

What an unusual decoration. I think light is essential at this time of year. I tend to fill up the space made by taking down Christmas with spring bulbs!
